ADM調査の成果をコンパイルした初の写真報告書『ADM: Asia's Own Unhinged Club Culture』（Soi48著）発売記念！ Soi48パーティ3ヶ月連続開催の初回・Vol.61「Budots Strikes Back──ブドッツの反攻」は、フィリピン・マニラからobese.dogma777を招聘して、いま世界的に注目を集めるADM「Budots（ブドッツ）」にフィーチャーした一夜をお送りする。
ダバオ市カムス出身の“DJ Love”ことSherwin Tunaが、実家のネットカフェ脇の小部屋でBPM140の単調な四つ打ちループを制作したのは2000年代中頃。やがてジープニーのクラクション、鳥獣の鳴き声、ホイッスル、笑い声、ネットミームなど、生活のあらゆる喧騒を取り込みながら、実家から隣家へ、隣家からストリートへ、ストリートから隣町へと、その奇怪なダンスを伴って伝染していく。やがてBudotsと名付けられたこの音楽はSNSの爆発的拡散と政治利用によって──一度もクラブを経由することなく──国民的ADMとして知れ渡ることになったが、その“不真面目さ”ゆえに知識層や文化層から毛嫌いされ、「低俗」の汚名を着せられてしまう。時を経て2023年、DJ Loveがロンドン発の配信プラットフォーム「Boiler Room」でBudotsを披露すると、世界中のダンスミュージック愛好家たちに少なからぬ衝撃をもたらすこととなった。
今回来日するobese.dogma777は、この西洋の権威をストレートに強襲した“事件”の首謀者であり、またマニラの電子音楽シーンを長く耕し続けてきた気概あるプロデューサーでもある。2010年代から抱き続けてきたBudotsへの特別な想いが結実しつつあるいま、彼はこのADMを新たな次元へと引き上げるべく「Post-Budots」という主題を掲げ、東南アジアの島国からダンスミュージックシーン全体に蔓延る停滞感、エリート主義、政治性に揺さぶりをかけるのであった。
迎え入れるDJ陣──Soi48、YOUNG-G、MMM、Koichi Tsutaki、Aoki Lucas、RICH & BUSY、Dynamite Kid──も前回開催から旅を重ね、MMP220もパワーアップして準備は万端。さらにイベント前日の10月4日（土）には、obese.dogma777をゲストに迎えた「OMK Meeting」の開催も予定している。3ヶ月連続企画の幕開けにふさわしいプログラムを、ぜひ現場で体感してほしい。

Marking the launch of the first-ever photo report compiling the findings of ADM research, ADM: Asia’s Own Unhinged Club Culture by Soi48, we kick off three consecutive months of Soi48 parties! The opening edition, Vol.61 “Budots Strikes Back”, will spotlight the globally rising ADM known as Budots, featuring a special guest from Manila, obese.dogma777.
In the mid-2000s, Sherwin Tuna—better known as DJ Love—began producing monotonous 140BPM four-on-the-floor loops in a small room beside his family’s internet café in Davao City’s Kamos district. Over time, the music absorbed jeepney horns, animal cries, whistles, laughter, memes, and the everyday noise of life, spreading from his home to neighbors, from neighbors to the street, from the street to the next town—always accompanied by its peculiar dance. Eventually dubbed Budots, this music spread nationally through viral social media and even political campaigns, becoming the Philippines’ most recognized ADM—without ever passing through the club scene. Yet, for its “silliness,” Budots was despised by intellectual and cultural elites and dismissed as “vulgar.”
Fast forward to 2023, when DJ Love performed Budots on London’s Boiler Room, delivering a shockwave to dance music fans worldwide.
The artist visiting Japan this time, obese.dogma777, was the mastermind behind this direct assault on Western authority and has long cultivated Manila’s electronic scene with determination. Carrying a deep and personal connection to Budots since the 2010s, he now frames his work under the theme of “Post-Budots,” pushing this ADM into new dimensions while challenging the stagnation, elitism, and politicization pervading today’s dance music culture.
Welcoming him are DJs Soi48, YOUNG-G, MMM, Koichi Tsutaki, Aoki Lucas, RICH & BUSY, and Dynamite Kid—all freshly charged from travels since the last party. With MMP220 also upgraded and ready, the night promises to be unforgettable.

Born from the ashes and rubble of the defunct electronic music project similarobjects, obese.dogma777 emerges as a fusion of esoteric maximalism and abrasive, post-modern electronic club sounds. His output recontextualizes mainstream club tropes, infusing them with eclectic, experimental, intrusive, and abrasive sound-design elements—often conjuring dystopian sonics that feel both prophetic and deranged.
His latest muse, Post-Budots, extends this sonic language into a speculative future where hyperlocal dance music collides with hyperreality. Distorted, deconstructed, and amplified, his approach reframes Budots through a maximalist lens—blurring the lines between lowbrow and high-concept, underground and mainstream, tradition and digital grotesquery.
His work often explores speculative ideas and theories at the intersection of pop culture, net concrete, technology, occultism, meta-irony, hyperrealism, and memetics—an ever-expanding, self-consuming collage of sound and meaning.
