ADM調査の成果をコンパイルした初の写真報告書『ADM: Asia's Own Unhinged Club Culture』（Soi48著）発売記念！ Soi48パーティ4連続開催の第3回・Vol.63「The Lion King Returns──桃園的Y2K」と題し台湾独自のダンス・ミュージックのルーツに迫る。今回来日するDJ @Lは1985年にDJキャリアをスタートさせて以来、台湾の電音舞曲文化を創成期から支え、とくに初期テクノ／ドラムンベース・シーンで重要な役割を果たしてきたキーパーソン。2002年には週末の一晩で6,000人を動員する台湾最大級の夜店「桃園獅子王」の音楽ディレクターを務め、華語ポップスとハードトランス／テクノを融合させたブートレッグ・キラーによって台湾独自の舞曲様式の礎を築いた一人である。「たった一軒のクラブによって、台北中のすべてのクラブが潰される」とクラブ関係者たちが慄くほどの存在感を放っていた「桃園獅子王」。今回本物の台湾Y2Kダンスミュージックが東京・新宿で蘇る。
迎え入れるDJ陣は、フィリピン・マニラで開催された第一回『ADM/IT』でADMを披露し、関係者から「2025年マニラのベストパーティー」と称された Soi48、YOUNG-G、MMM、RICH & BUSY 。また、イベント前日の12月6日（土）には虎ノ門TIGER MOUNTAINにてトークイベント「ONE MEKONG MEETING “ADM: Asia’s Own Unhinged Club Culture” Talk Session」を開催。こちらも参加すればアジアのダンスミュージックへの解像度が上がるはずだ。

To celebrate the release of ADM: Asia’s Own Unhinged Club Culture—the first photographic report compiling the findings of our ADM field research—Soi48 presents the third installment of our four-part party series: Vol.63 “The Lion King Returns — Taoyuan Y2K.” This edition dives into the roots of Taiwan’s unique dance-music lineage.
Visiting Japan for this event is DJ @L, a key figure who has supported Taiwan’s electronic dance-music culture since its formative years. Starting his career in 1985, he played an essential role in shaping the early techno and drum’n’bass scenes. In 2002, he served as music director of Taoyuan’s legendary mega-club “Lion King”, which drew over 6,000 dancers in a single weekend night. Through his bootleg hybrids of Mandopop and hard trance/techno, he helped lay the foundation for a distinctly Taiwanese style of dance music. “A single club capable of shutting down every venue in Taipei,” industry insiders once said—the overwhelming presence of Lion King will be brought back to life in Tokyo, Shinjuku.
Joining him are Soi48, YOUNG-G, MMM, and RICH & BUSY, who showcased ADM at the first “ADM/IT” event in Manila—described by local insiders as “Manila’s best party of 2025.”
On the day before the event, December 6 (Sat), a talk session titled “ONE MEKONG MEETING – ADM: Asia’s Own Unhinged Club Culture Talk Session” will be held at Toranomon TIGER MOUNTAIN. Attending both will undoubtedly sharpen your lens on Asia’s dance-music cultures.

Since beginning his DJ career in 1985, DJ @L has been a key figure supporting Taiwan’s electronic dance-music culture from its earliest days, playing an especially vital role in the development of the island’s early techno and drum’n’bass scenes. In 1992, he founded bpm ProductioN, through which he has organized numerous raves and festivals up to the present.
In 2002, he served as music director for “Lion King,” one of Taiwan’s largest mega-clubs, which drew over 6,000 dancers in a single weekend night. With his bootleg killers—fusing Mandopop with hard trance and techno—he helped lay the foundation for a uniquely Taiwanese dance-music style.
In 2007, his exceptional skill earned him an invitation as a resident DJ in Hangzhou, China. Today, with decades of experience and a distinctive mastery of the craft, he stands as a true heavyweight—widely regarded as one of Taiwan’s Top 10 DJs.
